About Us
High Country Wedding Guide was conceptualized on a plane ride returning from a work trip in Dec., 2008 while sitting with a talented wedding photographer who also lived in the High Country. I wasn't married yet and had only lived in the High Country for two years, but had visited the area my entire life and was excited to call it home. With friends getting married all around me, I discovered there was a need for a publication to help guide brides in planning a High Country wedding.
My engagement also came during the planning of the first issue. I was able to experience first-hand what a bride would need in a wedding guide for the High Country. I discovered breathtaking venues and wildly talented vendors from Linville to Blowing Rock. My hope is that this magazine will continue to bless brides as they make planning decisions and take away some of the burden of researching vendors. My favorite feature of the guide is each issue will showcase recent weddings so readers can hear from real brides' experiences.
